If you’re not from Swansea it might seem a little strange to see so many revellers in and around the city enjoying food and wine in the middle of the week. But this tradition stems from France; celebrated on the third Thursday of November with fireworks, music and festivals, under French law, the wine is released at 12:01am, just weeks after the grapes have been harvested. Parties are held to welcome the first wine of the season.
Celebrated widely across Swansea we are city that likes to stay ‘off-trend’ and Beaujolais Day has been popular for many years, so in keeping with the popular tradition we are putting our final touches to the food, drink and décor of Quay 3 ready for you to enjoy the party.
So, what can you expect from us this week? Situated on one of Europe’s largest marinas, you can sit back, relax and join us for our specially prepared two-course menu and experience your very own Beaujolais Day away from France. With live music, stunning décor, food to match and of course not forgetting the selection of wine, we’re ready to take your palette on a journey it’ll never forget.
And, just in time for the day itself, our outdoor pods will be ready and dressed to host parties of 8 for a Beaujolais platter and Prosecco with mini beef sliders, chicken and chorizo skewers, BBQ chicken wings, chips, dips and brie wedges to name a few lighter bites. Based on the marina and encapsulating the stunning views, the pods will be a truly magical experience and especially perfect for enjoying the company of close friends and family.
We look forward to inviting you as our guests to our Beaujolais Day celebration, so let’s get the party started!
