Due to the resounding success of our unique afternoon tea at Quay Three we are proud to launch a dedicated afternoon tea lounge to coincide with the start of Spring. Quay Three has transformed the restaurant’s former bar area into a ‘quintessential country garden’ complete with grass covered surfaces and rustic wooden furniture to create the perfect setting for their popular afternoon tea which Quay Three offer in partnership with renowned bakery, Raspberry Cakery.
Quay Three Director Jason Hole, 31, said: “The Quay Three bar area wasn’t being utilised while the demand and commitments of the restaurant restricted us from offering afternoon teas all day, every day despite customers going crazy for it! We were essentially running two different businesses with one operation team and one kitchen so we decided to split it into two areas with its very own bar and entrance.”
Quay Three now offers the best of both worlds, a sophisticated restaurant serving lunch and dinner and an all-day coffee shop serving delicious afternoon tea, a casual deli menu as well as a selection of coffees and quirky cocktails.
Jason continued: “We gathered inspiration from the European ‘café culture’ for the afternoon tea lounge, which we felt our Marina setting lends itself perfectly too. As a result of the refurbishment we’re anticipating a busy summer and have even bought fancy outdoor furniture to ensure our customers make the most of the sun when it decides to shine!”
In keeping with the Quay Three philosophy to offer ‘a unique twist on British classics’ the afternoon tea menu offers a quirky take on the British tradition, expect chunky slices of rainbow cake and handmade sandwiches served on ‘mini wooden benches’.
